The challenge

How is Berlin changing?

In 2015, Berlin is changing rapidly and profoundly, becoming a magnet for investors, a place where urban landscapes are being transformed on a large scale and urban communal spaces are becoming increasingly valuable.

Make City – Urban Resources Reimagined – was a festival created by curator Francesca Ferguson, which first took place in 2015 and addressed the changes in Berlin's urban development over two and a half weeks in 140 events.

The festival newspaper editorial team Simon Wöhr

The tactic

Simon Wöhr, as part of the organizing team responsible for editing the festival website, the festival newspaper including a program pocket calendar with 140 events, as well as coordinating the Berlin-wide advertising campaign including ad management, poster distribution and program flyers, and coordinating and scheduling PR work, contributed to the successful public relations of the festival.

In addition, Simon Wöhr took over editorial management and communication with the festival's more than 100 partners and sponsors.

The festival media were distributed throughout Berlin to locations with potentially interested parties: in exhibitions, universities and colleges, libraries, relevant bookstores, architecture and design offices, etc.

The result

Thousands of visitors engaged with their city during the festival, reflecting on its development and discussing it with one another. Due to its success, the festival was held again in 2018.
